The 28th Annual Lakeland Chamber Golf Scramble will take place on December 3 at Grasslands Golf and Country Club, one of the finest designed private courses in central Florida. - Janet Fansler, DNP, RN, CENP, Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center Executive Vice President and Lakeland Regional Health Chief Nurse Executive, is appointed as Adjunct Assistant Clinical Practice Dean at the University of South Florida College of Nursing in Tampa. As such, Dr. Fansler will serve as a member of the Dean’s Chief Nurse Advisory Board. Dr. Fansler joined Lakeland Regional Health in 1993 and is responsible for ensuring delivery of high-quality patient care, maintaining a culture of excellence within the nursing team and the development and overall success of the Medical Center operating and strategic plans.
- Eight students graduated from Lakeland Regional Health’s School of Radiologic Technology on Thursday, June 7 in the Campisi Family Auditorium at the Hollis Cancer Center. Graduates are Byrony Burdine, Megan Cole, Jeff Farrell, Jamie Heard, Alexis Kelson, Rebecca Mateljak, Dakota Neumann and Ciara Soto. The School of Radiologic Technology is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.

LAKELAND, FL. – Vogel Bros. Building Co., a fifth generation construction services company, is excited to announce that Darren Vogel has been promoted to Vice President of Operation of its Florida office. Darren will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Lakeland, FL division.
Darren was born and raised in Lakeland, Florida and represents the fifth generation of Vogel family members to provide leadership for the company. Darren earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida – Gainesville. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Florida. Prior to joining Vogel Bros., Darren spent four years with a major design engineering firm working on the planning, design and construction of water and wastewater facilities. Darren has been around the construction industry his entire life and is following his father Dan’s footsteps in leading the Vogel Bros. Florida office.
“I am excited for the opportunity to continue the legacy of servant leadership that has been passed to me by my grandfather, father and uncle,” said Darren Vogel. “Since childhood I have wanted to be an integral part of this company, and I look forward to helping guide the next generation through our continued development.”
Active with community organizations, Darren is a member of the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce, Lakeland South Rotary Club, and National Utility Contractors Association. He is an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a graduate of Leadership Lakeland Class 35. Darren resides in Lakeland, Florida with his wife and their three children.

Lakeland, FL – Lakeland Regional Health and YMCA of West Central Florida are excited to announce a new community health program called Get Active!
Beginning Saturday, June 23, members of the community will be able to take part in fitness classes and weekly walking groups – free of charge.
“We are dedicated to strengthening the health of our community in a variety of innovative ways,” said Lauren-Parkes Springfield, Lakeland Regional Health Manager of Community Health Outreach and Diabetes Services. “Our first FitChurch Challenge was received so well by our community earlier this year that we wanted to keep the commitment and energy going with an ongoing physical activity program. Get Active supports healthy lifestyle changes in a social atmosphere.”
Classes are open to everyone, regardless of fitness level or experience, and will include cardio, strength training, yoga and Zumba. YMCA membership is not required to participate in the program. Class schedules are listed in the links above.
“Total body workouts offer many benefits to participants, including improved coordination, stamina, balance and flexibility,” said Laura Feliciano, Lakeland Family YMCA Wellness Director. “We are so excited to partner with Lakeland Regional Health to increase access to fitness and wellness opportunities.”
