DC’s Sports Bar, Inc. brings a unique combination of tradition and family to one of Lakeland’s newest establishments. Located in historic Dixieland, this Lakeland landmark has a long, successful history dating back to the 60’s when many knew it as “Zimmerman’sâ€. DC’s was established in late 2008, and after extensive remodeling, opened its doors in January, 2009. Newcomers soon learn that family is also at the heart of DC’s. Capitalizing on son, Andy’s, years of experience in restaurant management, DC’s is locally owned and operated by Steve and Joy Browne along with their sons, Andy and Ryan, and Andy’s wife, Chrissy. The Browne family mission has been to create a fun, friendly “hometown bar†atmosphere where customers can walk in and immediately feel at ease. People smile at you when you walk in the door, they know your name, and if they don’t, they are sure to soon.
It’s easy to see why DC’s is quickly becoming one of Lakeland’s new favorite hangouts for sports and fun. With six large screened HDTV’s, DC’s now offers the ESPN Game Plan and the NFL Sunday Ticket where fans can come to cheer on their favorite team. When the big game isn’t on, DC’s features a wide variety of entertainment. Karaoke is offered on Sunday and Thursday evenings, Open-Musician’s Night is offered on Tuesday evenings, Texas Hold’em Poker is offered on Wednesday evenings, and live entertainment is provided on Saturday nights. In addition, DC’s has free WI-FI, a state of the art digital jukebox with access to thousands of songs, darts, Silver Strike Bowling, and Golden Tee Golf.
DC’s has recently expanded to serving full liquor and is celebrating with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday, October 21st and a community Grand Opening and Appreciation Celebration October 21-25th.
