Catch a Movie Under the Stars – Pics on the Promenade Returns 4/8

Looking for a unique outdoor event around the Lakeland area? Need an idea for a Friday night date, family activity, or simple gathering with friends? Then come out this Friday, April 8, to experience Pics on the Promenade at Lake Mirror in downtown Lakeland and enjoy a free movie under the stars!

Pics on the Promenade has been a celebrated event in Lakeland for almost three years now, providing the enjoyment of free outdoor movies and has no intention of slowing down! This Friday evening will be a presentation of Rob Reiner’s The Princess Bride!

The classic fairy tale story (read by a patient grandfather to his grandson) full of adventure and quirky characters takes unexpected turns as the betrothed Buttercup is kidnapped to start a war and sought after by her childhood male admirer, Westley. This seemingly simple quest brings Westley to meet an eccentric crowd along the way comprised of a thief, a giant, and a swordsman—to name a few— while also scaling the Cliffs of Insanity and battling the dreaded Rodents of Unusual Size.

Come out early to get a good spot (movie starts around dusk) and relive The Princess Bride or watch it for the first time… you’ll “have fun storming the castle!”
