Lakeland Medical Community Welcomes Rapha Vascular Specialists

RC - Rapha Vascular Specialists

Rapha Vascular is a resource for patients in need of information regarding all types of vascular conditions. Our highly trained and qualified staff is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of vascular disease. We consider all options for the most up-to-date treatment types available, including surgical, nonsurgical, or minimally invasive endovascular options.
Vascular disease includes aneurysms, peripheral artery disease, stroke, renal failure, and venous disease. While they all affect the body in different ways, they are all linked by a common set of risk factors, including obesity, physical inactivity, smoking, and high blood pressure.
Unfortunately, Central Florida has an extremely high rate of these risk factors among the population. Our staff strives to not only treat patients with existing condition, but also educate them on preventive health with an overall goal of helping reduce the high mortality rates from vascular disease in our region.

Rapha Vascular is headed by Dr. Obinna Nwobi, who chose to practice in an underserved area in Florida. In a field that graduates only 100 new vascular surgeons a year, Dr. Nwobi is an exemplary vascular surgeon who worked for the Indian Health Services, Veterans Affairs Hospital, and large private and public hospitals.

Madrid Engineering Group, Inc. (MEG) is a Polk County based engineering company located in Bartow, Florida, with particular expertise in geotechnical engineering, geology and hydrogeology, and environmental solutions for water quality.  Over the last several years MEG has expanded our capabilities through acquisition of key staff and growth.  We are now able to offer expertise in general Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Drainage and Stormwater Management, Transportation and Environmental Engineering.  Madrid Engineering began in 1992 and established our office headquarters in Bartow in 1994.  In April 2008, we moved into our new LEED compliant office complex on State Road 60 East, between the City of Bartow’s Parks & Recreation and Solid Waste Facilities Offices.  Madrid Engineering Group, Inc. is also a professional minority (Hispanic) business, currently listed with the Polk County MBE program, as well as being certified with other State programs and the federal Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) program.

Madrid Engineering Group, Inc., has made two prestigious business lists this past year: The Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Fast 50, a list of the fastest growing privately held companies in Tampa Bay; and Florida Trend Magazine’s Best Companies to Work For in 2010, ranking 12th in the state in the Small Business category.

The company has 48 employees in numerous engineering and environmental science disciplines; four drill rigs, and a full-service geotechnical laboratory.  MEG has completed numerous projects associated with parks and athletic facilities, transportation, water supply; wastewater systems including soil borings for water treatment plants and distribution lines; landfills; lake sediment sampling; and many other commercial, industrial and municipal applications.  In addition, MEG personnel have completed hydrogeologic analyses of sites to determine groundwater direction and flow velocity rates, vertical seepage rates, presence and influence of aquatards and aquacludes, and water balance for critical environmental systems, such as lakes and reservoirs.  The application of hydrogeology to contaminant migration has also been done for petroleum-contaminated sites.  MEG is supported by an extensive network of environmental laboratories that we work with to complete analytical testing of water samples.
