W.K. McRae House is in need of a new owner!
The property known as W.K. McRae House was named after its first owner, W.K. McRae who served as Lakeland’s marshal and tax collector in early 1900s. The property, located on East Orange Street in Lakeland across from the Barnett Family Park and Hollis Garden, went through major renovations with a cost of nearly $5,000,000 in 2006 to be retrofitted for an upscale office building and the work was completed in 2008. An important aspect was maintaining the history of the building.
“What a beautiful job.? That was the reaction of the late Lakeland Mayor Buddy Fletcher who presided over the ribbon cutting ceremony at the grand opening of the renovated building in March of 2008. ?I’d go by that way after work and it was not a rush job,? Mayor Fletcher said. ?And when they put down the brick driveway and the parking area with the grass, I was just really impressed.?
The office building, owned by long-time resident of Lakeland, Dr. Moghadasi, features 9 office suites, a large conference room, 4 fireplaces, 4 bathrooms, 12 parking spaces and an open balcony on the second floor with views of Lake Mirror.
