LAKELAND, Fla. | The halls of the RP Funding Center will be merry and bright this holiday season thanks to the glittering Christmas trees that are not just festive, but represent the spirit of giving.
City of Lakeland departments will compete throughout November and December by decorating a Christmas tree that inspires patrons to give back. The tree that receives the most donations for United Way of Central Florida wins.
City workers will have one week to decorate their trees before the kickoff. The display will be open to the public during normal business hours November 20 to December 31.
Anyone attending performances at the center, such as Cirque Dreams Holidaze, Moscow Ballet’s Great Russian Nutcracker, Imperial Symphony Orchestra Holiday Pops and others, will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite tree with a donation.
100% of donations will go to UWCF to improve lives and strengthen our community. The team that raises the most money will receive an award and bragging rights.
