Local Bank Gives Back to Teachers


Jackie Harris holds a gift basket she won in a drawing at the Hardee County Schools Great Beginnings New Teacher Orientation on Aug. 8. Wauchula State Bank provided the basket, which was presented by Business Banker Debbie Hilliard. Harris, a newcomer to Hardee County, teaches core subjects (math, language arts, science and social studies) to third-graders at Wauchula Elementary School. She has 13 years of teaching experience and was a district teacher of the year. She was also selected to participate in the Lead and Learn program through the Florida Department of Education.
