Polk State College District Board of Trustees Considering Changes in Fees for 2019-20

 

Winter Haven, May 22, 2019 - The Polk State College District Board of Trustees (DBOT) will consider changes in lab fees for college credit and Educator Preparation Institute courses offered at the College at the June 24, 2019 Board Meeting. Each year the College evaluates all fees to ensure that charges accurately reflect any changes in the cost of instructional materials or supplemental items required for courses. Polk State has a total of 216 lab fees for the 2019-2020 Academic Year, with 208 unchanged from 2018-2019. Four lab fees are decreasing due to the removal of the courses from the College catalog. Four fees are being added to serve new courses. Details of the fee changes are described below:

New Fees:

CET 2620C – Connecting Networks

2018-2019 Fee: $0

2019-2010 Fee (Proposed): $60.00

CET 2620C is a new course and the fourth class in the CCNA sequence.

CTS 1161C – Microsoft Windows 10 Operating Systems Technologies

2018-2019 Fee: $0

2019-2020 Fee (Proposed): $60.00

CTS 1161C is a new course and the latest update to Microsoft’s client operating systems.

CTS 2103C – Virtualization Concepts and Implementation

2018-2019 Fee: $0

2019-2020 Fee (Proposed): $60.00

CTS 2103C is a new course replacing CTS 2370C.

CTS 2664C – CCNA Security

2018-2019 Fee: $0

2019-2020 Fee (Proposed): $60.00

CTS 2664C is a new course replacing CTE 2665C.

Decreasing Fees:

CET 2665C – CCNA Security

2018-2019 Fee: $60.00

2019-2020 Fee (Proposed): $0

CET 2665C is being removed from the program.

CTS 2370C – Virtualizing the Datacenter I

2018-2019 Fee: $60.00

2019-2020 Fee (Proposed): $0

CTS 2370C is being removed from the program.

CTS 2391C – Administering Windows Server 2012

2018-2019 Fee: $60.00

2019-2020 Fee (Proposed): $0

CTS 2391C is being removed from the program.

CTS 2392C – Configuring Advanced Windows Server 2012 Services

2018-2019 Fee: $60.00

2019-2020 Fee (Proposed): $0

CTS 2392C is being removed from the program.

The DBOT meeting wherein these fee changes will be considered will be held Monday, June 24, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at Polk State College, Winter Haven Campus, WST 126.
