Lakeland Regional Health has the following good news to share:
- Rene Cajuste, MD, has joined Lakeland Regional Health as a Hospitalist at Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center. Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, Dr. Cajuste earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Penn State College of Medicine. He completed his Residency and Internship at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York. Dr. Cajuste most recently served as an Internal Medicine physician with Delta Internal Medicine Center, an inpatient and outpatient practice in Orlando. Dr. Cajuste is fluent in English and French.
- Maureen Leckie, MSN, HACP, Associate Vice President of Operations and Growth for Lakeland Regional Health, and Tim Allen, MBA, Lakeland Regional Health Lead Security Supervisor and Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, recently completed training offered by the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, Ala. The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency operates the Center for Domestic Preparedness. The CDP develops and delivers advanced training for emergency response providers, emergency managers, and government officials. Mrs. Leckie attended the Healthcare Executive Incident Command training, and Mr. Allen attended Healthcare Leadership for Mass Casualty Incidents. Mr. Allen also attended a conference on Hospital Emergency Response Training for Mass Casualty Incidents – Train the Trainer.
- Xavier Román, MD, has joined Lakeland Regional Health as an Obstetrician and Gynecologist. Dr. Román sees patients at the Grasslands Campus, 3030 Harden Blvd #200, Lakeland. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico and completed his Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies in Orlando. Dr. Román most recently served as an Obstetrician/Gynecologist at Orrego Center for Women’s Health in Ocoee, Florida. Dr. Román is fluent in English and Spanish.
