Future of Innovation Economy the Focus of Caucus Meeting

The Florida Chamber Foundation is in the process of planning the next quarterly Innovation Caucus meeting. The summer meeting will be held in Central Florida and we will highlight other components of Florida’s innovation economy. We welcome your suggestions on topics for the next meeting or for the upcoming Blueprint for Florida’s Innovation Economy research report.

During our recent Innovation Caucus meeting, we discussed how strategic investment, talent supply and research collaboration will propel Florida’s innovation and entrepreneurial economy.

Dan Holladay, Executive Director, International Consortium for Advanced Manufacturing Research (ICAMR) opened the caucus meeting with a presentation on how the advanced materials manufacturing development center in Osceola County will create R&D partnership opportunities and the next generation of high-wage jobs in Florida.

The event also included conversations with Sen. Jeff Brandes (R-St. Petersburg), Rep. Eric Eisnaugle (R-Orlando), and Sen. Jeremy Ring (D-Margate) as well as discussions led by industry experts in the fields of university research, technology transfer, innovation funding, workforce and research parks.
