Participate in Wetlands Focus Group Webcast Today
The Polk County Growth Management Department is forming a “Wetlands Focus Group” to assist staff in the review of proposed changes to current wetland policies. Participation is needed in this process! Topics of discussion will include: Development Review for Wetlands Impacts-Process and Issues; Wetlands Protection-Agency Roles; Proposed Changes to Wetland Policies; and Overview of Wetland Mitigation and Banking.
For those who can attend in person, the meetings will be held from 2:30-5:00 pm in the Polk County Commission Board Room (in Bartow) on the following dates: Tuesday, June 15; Monday, June 28; and Monday, July 12. To sign up for the focus group, go to www.polkgrowthmatters.com and click on Planning Initiatives.
Those who cannot attend on location can still contribute via a live interactive webcast. By logging onto one of the internet host sites listed below, participants can watch the presentations and discussions — and submit their own comments and suggestions to the group. This is a great opportunity for anyone with an interest in the impact of wetlands in Polk County to engage - even if they aren’t in the area during the meetings!
